abstract
This study will compare temporalis muscle attachment area and tooth size and their connection to various subsistence patterns in human populations. It is hypothesized that different subsistence groups will present different relationships between tooth and temporalis muscle size. The method will use archival data for subsistence patterns along with measurements of tooth size and temporalis attachment area. Correlation analysis will be used to determine the relationship between tooth size, temporalis attachment area, and subsistence practices. Results may help researchers determine unknown subsistence patterns from fossil record data. note
